If it were mine I'd make a trip to the nearest market and buy a box/bottle of "Gain" laundry detergent. Places where the smaller tired units are less than worthless.

With it you should not have much trouble on gravel or hard/dry ground. For one thing, that small a forklift with that large size tires aren't real common. I'd rather drop $500-800 to fix this or get another used one rather than rent one to do the jobs that need doing.įirst of all, let me say that if I had that machine, I'd darn sure do my level best to get it on line. If it's too much I may try to get a hold of a guy from here who used to post and had some lifts for sale and see if he's still got any cheap instead of dumping a ton of cash into a big hole with no return. I want to get a feel how much I may have to dump into this pig. This is sort of an "around to" project, but I have a couple projects that need to be done by winter that could use a lift. I was down loading picts to clear the camera for an upcoming two week trip on Wednesday and came across these so I thought I'd take the time to post them now even though I won't have time to do anything with the lift until well after I get back.

Where do they usually have these mounted? Anyone know where I can get a manual for this? I was unable to find a name plate anywhere when I took a quick look the other day. I have no idea the model, year or any thing else other than the Tow Motor name thats cut into the side cover. I'd like to know what goes in each, and what fluid is usually added, hyd oil, etc. There appear to be two place that fluid can be added. I'd like to at least keep topping off the fluids. Not at all uncommon for much of his stuff.

I have no idea what the issue might be or even how to go about diagnosing the problem right now. Probably because he was never the one running the lift. It didn't seem to matter for what little he used it for which was occasional unloading of trucks for materials for his business. It had this issue when he bought the machine, but never bothered to fix the issue. The bigger issue is it has no brakes what so ever. thats the "minor" issue, as I'm sure while a bit of WD40 and some poking around I can figure out what the issue is there. Pedal goes to the floor, but it won't rev up. Right now it has no throttle control at all. I'd like to at least be able to make some use of it. It's a propane powered lift and thats about all I know, other than it's got a ton of "issues". Ok I've "inherited" an old Tow Motor forklift from a friend who passed away.
